The internet is a wonderful thing. These days you can get so much value for so little. A good example is that you can learn to play guitar online these days for very low cost.
In my “Guitar Play Learn” blog I cover a bunch of very good tips to get your started. This is the kind of information that I historically charged anywhere from $25 to $35 per hour. But now because of the internet it is common for websites to give a lot of this same information away for free.

The same audio editing tool is extremely helpful for recording yourself whilst playing, so that you can hear objectively how you sound. You need to do this to help you problem solve areas of improvement in your guitar playing. Try improvising against a pre recorded backing track that you have created yourself, or alternatively against backing tracks that you have purchased. By recording yourself you have catalogued some gems that may have come out of your jam sessions. Then later on you can tweek and work these ideas into your own playing style.
